Several years ago, Writers’ Program student Akeba Gaddis took courses with Judith Prager and Harry Youtt. In one of the classes, Judith and Harry assigned an exercise in which students were to write about two people having an awkward meeting. Akeba took her short story based on this exercise, developed it into a longer story, and included it in her application for the CBS Studios Writers Mentoring Program. Not only did she get into the program, but she also got a manager and an agent as a result!
Akeba tells the team-teaching couple, “The feedback I got in your class was that many of the students could imagine my stories on the screen. Thank you, Judith and Harry, for being an incredible influence on my writing career.”
Congratulations, Akeba. Keep us posted as your writing career evolves!
