Success: Online Student Publishes Picture Book in India

Lorax and ISushree Mishra, who studied children’s book writing online with Terry Pierce, just published her first picture book with leading Indian publisher Karadi Tales. The Night Monster, to be published in early 2015, deals sensitively with a young child’s fear of the night and also depicts a beautiful sibling relationship.

“I was a storyteller but I learned to write at the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program,” says Sushree. “I learned a lot from extensive interaction with my classmates. I would like to thank them all. I would especially like to thank my writing teacher, Terry Pierce for being the most wonderful, supportive and encouraging writing teacher ever!”

Congratulations, Sushree!

Congratulations, Sushree! I am over-the-moon happy for you. I still recall your beautiful storyteller’s voice from the piece you worked on in class. This is fabulous news!
