Writers’ Program student Julie Dillemuth just published her first picture book about a young raccoon who gets lost one night. Lucy in the City (Magination Press, May 2015) “promotes spatial thinking skills in kids, namely retracing one’s steps and using landmarks to navigate,” says Julie.

Julie wrote the book in Terry Pierce’s fabulous Introduction to Writing Easy Readers (Online) course. “I love the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program,” Julie says. “Terry gave me three rounds of specific feedback as well as encouragement.”

Congratulations, Julie!
