Former student Nathalie Kramer recently had her story “Lucky” published in the Santa Monica Review. Additionally, the story was submitted as part of her application to the Bennington MFA Fiction Writing Seminars, to which she was accepted.

Of her time in the Writers’ Program, Nathalie says, “I am very grateful to Lou Mathews and his Advanced Short Story class at the Writers’ Program; not only is he a great writer but a great teacher, it is rare to have both in the same person. His insights and edits opened up my imagination and helped complete my short story, “Lucky.” Lou’s knowledge of the short story, his love of words, and writers, are really amazing, and so inspiring. I have learned a lot from his class.”

Congratulations, Nathalie! If you have a success story, we want to hear about it! Click here.
