Instructor Sherry Shahan has placed personal essays/memoirs with Exposition Review (“The Rabbit Died”) and Dark Ink Press (“Child Daughter”). Memoir Magazine selected her essay “The Boat” as a “Notable Essay” in their 2018 #MeToo essay contest. Her travel essay “An American Woman on the Streets of Havana” will be published by Mount Hope Literary Journal.
Of her time teaching with the Writers’ Program, Sherry says, “I’ve been teaching a beginning picture book writing course since 2007. The best part is cheering on the many publishing successes of my students.”
