This summer is a time of major transitions for the Writers’ Program (and all of UCLA Extension). A few weeks ago we vacated the building that has been our home for fifty years. We have moved into a new space on Kinross in Westwood Village, along with most of the academic program departments and some administrative departments, while the rest of the administrative departments are nearby in the Gayley Center building. Both spaces are temporary, transitional spaces and we hope to be in new, more permanent locations in a couple months. See below for some adventures we’ve had in moving.

Additionally, Writers’ Program recently bid a very fond farewell to our Program Manager of twenty years, Cindy Lieberman. Cindy retired at the end of June, and as you can see from photos below, the WP did our best to send her off with as much love (and food) as we could! While we’re sad to see Cindy depart, we are blessed to have had her with us for so many years and wish her all the best in her retirement. Thankfully, our own Creative Writing program representative, Nutschell Windsor, has been promoted to Cindy’s position and we look forward to the new possibilities within this time of change.

The Writers’ Program is, as always, so appreciative of the support and patience shown by our staff, instructors, and students as we navigate these changes and future challenges. Here’s to summer adventures!
