Many students enjoy the flexibility that online classes provide, as well as the opportunity to connect with fellow writers from around the world. Canvas is the official online platform for UCLA Extension courses and students simply need a PC or Apple computer with reliable internet access in order to participate.
The Writers’ Program offers more than 175 beginning to advanced-level online courses in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, writing for the youth market, feature film writing and television writing. Courses are typically 10-weeks long, though some 6-week and 12-week options are available. Instructors check in at least once every 48 hours and discussions are usually ongoing throughout the week.
Check back with us in late October to see a sample Canvas course.
