UCLA Extension Writers’ Program instructors Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini are consulting producers on the ABC series “The Cashmere Mafia”. The show was supposed to debut on November 27, but with the strike, the studio feared it would run out of original material and pulled the first airing to save the original scripts for later use.

Mafia, from the producer of Sex in the City, chronicles the lives of four Ivy League educated Manhattan women whose successes outnumber their husbands, friends and colleagues combined, and stars Emmy® nominee Lucy Liu (Ally McBeal, Charlie’s Angels), Golden Globe nominee Frances O’Connor, SAG Award Winner Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and Bonnie Somerville (NYPD Blue, Kitchen Confidential).

Both Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini taught Writing the Half-Hour Spec Pilot: Advanced Workshop.
