Online creative writing instructor Caroline Leavitt shares some great news for us all the way from Hoboken, New Jersey…

Caroline just sold her 9th novel Breathe to Algonquin Books. The novel is about a mysterious car accident and the four lives that interconnect because of it: a photographer fleeing her philandering husband whose girlfriend is pregnant, a woman three hours away from home with a suitcase in the car and her young asthmatic son, a boy with a terrible secret, and a man who realizes he never really knew the woman he had loved and married.

Also, Caroline’s short story, “The Neighborhood Watch”, which was previously published in Four Points Journal by Alice Hoffman, was one of two nominations for inclusion in the Best New American Voices 2010 anthology.

She shares:

“Although it’s a little strange to be considered a ‘new’ voice after so many publications, I am still thrilled, especially since this short story is the jumping off place for the novel I am currently writing.”

We can’t wait to add both of these books to the James Hartzell Library here in the office, Caroline! Congratulations on your latest success.
