Former Writers’ Program student and current MFA candidate Ching-In Chen has great publication news to share—the announcement of her first book, The Heart’s Traffic, a novel-in-poems that will be published by Red Hen Press in February of 2009.

“My instructor liz [gonzalez] was kind enough to help me with letters of recommendations to apply for my MFA or I wouldn’t be where I am today, in my MFA program at University of California at Riverside working on my second and third projects (also fictional) without her!”

Like Ching-In, many Writers’ Program students go on to pursue graduate degrees in creative writing, first strengthening their writing submission through courses at UCLA Extension. Our upcoming on-campus course, Graduate Creative Writing Programs: An Inside Look, provides students with the inside scoop on getting into the program of their choice.
