Physical therapist and alum Z. Altug recently thanked the Writers’ Program for helping him publish The Anti-Aging Fitness Perscription (co-written with Tracy Gensler). “For about two years I tried pitching my health/fitness book proposal to many publishers. I received over 20 rejection letters.” Z. then attended the workshop Writing a Book Proposal that Sells, which he says, “provided me with the tools to finalize my book proposal.” Hatherleigh Press published his book in 2006, and since then Z. has taken several Writers’ Program courses, including From Slushpile to Bestseller and Your Perfect Pitch Package. “I feel the UCLA workshop was the difference…I am now working on a children’s novel and UCLA Extension has been an excellent resource.”
