Creative writing student Malina Saval‘s book was recently release, which her former instructor Paul Mandelbaum describes as “a very cool nonfiction book.”
The book is called The Secret Lives of Boys: From Indie F**ks to Mini-Adults, from Teenaged Dads to Troublemakers, Inside the Raw Emotional World of Male Teens in America and offers an uncensored look into boyhood culture. It asks the questions: Who are these boys? What do they think of themselves? How can we advise them properly in a way that they will not resist?
Malina says of her former creative writing instructor, “While a creative workshop atmosphere can often seem daunting to a writer who writes so close to the bone, Paul always remained encouraging and supportive of all creative work and ideas.”
