Creative writing student Liz McGlinchey King‘s article, “Out of the Closet – Now What?”, recently appeared in the November/December 2008 issue of Mothering magazine. The article talks about how to support your gay child through the coming out process.
Liz shares, “This semester I am taking my second UCLA Extension Writers’ Program Class, The Art of Creative Non-Fiction. Instructor Gordon Grice and classmates generously and honestly support one another in our writing goals.”
She also has this advice to aspiring writers: “Write from the heart. Enrolling in my first on-line writing class about three years ago gave me the structure and confidence I needed to get started. When writing for magazines, research and meticulously follow the magazine’s submission guidelines.”
