Students from Laurel Ann Bogen’s Creative Writing: Poetry class will be reading their work at Diesel Bookstore in Brentwood on March 17th at 7 pm. Readers include Wendy All, Lise Matthews, Deirdre Feehan, Karen King, Erika Ayon, Jonathan Cartwright, Paula Yoo, Dan Post and Mehnaz Turner. The bookstore is located in the Brentwood Country Mart, on San Vicente Blvd and 26th Street. The event is free and open to the public.

“The poets come from backgrounds as diverse as an active duty serviceman on leave from Afghanistan to two recipients of the PEN Emerging Voices Fellowship to a toy designer,” Laurel Ann explains. “The work they produced during the quarter, in terms of where they began and where their poems were when they finished, was quite remarkable.”

Laurel Ann will be reading her own work at the following locations:

March 20, 7:30 pm: A reading with Gail Wronsky in a new series at Stories, 1716 Sunset Blvd. in Echo Par (phone is 213-413-3733).
March 26, 8 pm: A reading with Wanda Coleman, Michael C. Ford and Jawanza Dumisani at Pharmaka Gallery in downtown L.A. (on the corner of Main and Fifth).
