Paula Cizmar, who has taught more than 80 screenwriting courses for the Writers’ Program over the past 15 years, had her documentary play, Seven, performed in The Hague this past December.

The play was a collaboration between seven female leaders from Nigeria, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Russia, Pakistan, Northern Ireland, and Cambodia, all of whom have worked to expand human rights, and seven award-winning female playwrights. The writers, including Paula, collected interviews and oral histories from the women and collaborated on turning their stories into a play. Since 2008, Seven has been performed all over the world, including the Swedish national festival Home Not Home, the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington DC, the Forum for Women on the Economy and Society in Deauville, France, and the Diane von Furstenberg Studio in New York.
