Instructor Amy Friedman, who has taught personal essay and creative nonfiction courses for the Writers’ Program since 2002, was recently nominated for a 2010 Audie Award (the Academy Awards of the audiobook world) for best Original Work. Tell Me a Story 3: Women of Wonder is the third in a series of audiobooks with multicultural folktales selected from Amy’s long-running syndicated column Tell Me a Story. Featuring stories of goddesses and heroines, each story read is by stage or screen goddesses, among them Paula Poundstone and Bryce Dallas Howard. It also won a 2009 Parents’ Choice Gold Medal for Storytelling, a 2009 National Association of Parenting Publications Gold Medal, and a World Storytelling Award.
