Longtime student Marie Barteld, who has taken more than 20 Writers’ Program courses, recently published an article in the February edition of Veterinary Economics. Her piece explains how veterinarians can use holistic therapies like acupuncture and chiropractic to benefit their clients and practices.

“The article grew out of an assignment I did in the course, ‘Writing Nonfiction for Publication,’ taught by Roberta Wax. The certificate program here at the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program has given me the push I needed to stop the endless talking about writing and get to work. I now have the motivation and focus and, more important still, the tools to make writing a regular part of my life. Each instructor has added a few more pieces to the puzzle and offered me valuable feedback from their many years of experience.”
