Online instructor Anna Maria Hong, who teaches Creative Writing: Poetry online, will begin her 9-month residency at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University this September. During her fellowship Anna will write the second part of her two-volume sonnet series. “I recently completed the first collection, The Red Box. The second collection is currently titled The Glass Age and is inspired in part by the works of Marcel Duchamp and Niki de Saint Phalle.”

Anna credits teaching for the Writers’ Program with strengthening her own writing: “Teaching for the Writers’ Program has been a delight, as the students are so motivated to learn, and many are already writers of accomplishment looking for a community of like-minded people. I’ve taught a number of poetry workshops, all of which have helped me hone my own writing, think about aspects of craft, and read poems thoughtfully, trying to know what each poem is meant to be.”
