Rodney Hom, who received a scholarship from the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program through the Asian American Writers Workshop, was a quarter finalist in the 2009 American Zoetrope Screenwriting Contest for his script Changing Habits. The screenplay—Rodney’s first—is a “screwball comedy about a soon-to-be nun who leaves her convent to settle a debt.” He describes it as “The Sound of Music meets What’s Up Doc?”

“My first class, Introduction to Screenwriting I, was crucial to my writing journey. Andy Guerdat helped me crystallize my idea, which set me on the right path. I’m very grateful to him.”

Congratulations, Rodney. Keep on writing!
