Former creative writing student Guy Prevost has recently published his short stories, including “The Canadian Sergeant” in The North Atlantic Review and “How’s David?” in Lively Arts.

Guy took short fiction workshops with instructor Paul Mandelbaum and says, “Paul was invaluable to my development as a writer. He opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking about fiction in general and he provided wonderfully creative ideas on my stories. He has a talent for bringing out the best in a writer’s work, for example, helping me focus the theme of ‘The Canadian Sergeant.’ Paul’s insight is first rate and his humor, encouragement, and wit all made it a pleasure to be in his class.”

As for his advice to students? “When it comes to submitting stories, all I can say is ignore the rejections and keep sending stuff out.”

Congratulations, Guy–we look forward to seeing more of your work in print!
