Writers’ Program student Nancy Pine’s book Educating Young Giants: What Kids Learn (And Don’t Learn) in China and America is being published by Macmillan.

Drawing from her years of experience in schools in China and the United States and conversations with students, teachers, and parents, Educating Young Giants shows how the two countries need to extract themselves from outmoded practices and meet 21st century challenges by learning from each other’s strengths.

Nancy says, “Writers’ Program courses helped me turn years of research into a readable book accessible to everyone. Rochelle Jewel Shapiro’s critiques of beginning chapters freed up my style, Gordon Grice’s courses led me to use fiction techniques in nonfiction, and the online courses provided a support community to keep me going.”

Congratulations, Nancy!
