Writers’ Program student Silas Matthies has recently published in literary magazine The Iconoclast, Issue 109. His story, “The Queen of MacArthur Park,” is about a homeless woman living in L.A. who is physically confronted by a security guard.

Silas took his first Writers’ Program course with instructor Eve La Salle Caram in the winter of 2000, and says, “Eve’s ability to find out what works and what doesn’t work in a story is incredible. Her class changed my entire writing life.” Since then Silas has studied with Anne Sanow, Lou Mathews, Leslie Lehr, and many others in over a dozen classes.

Congratulations, Silas!
