Writers’ Program student Tanya Ward Goodman’s memoir, Leaving Tinkertown, was recently published by the University of New Mexico Press. In her memoir, Tanya tells the story of her experiences coping with her artist father’s early-onset dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She began her memoir in class with Samantha Dunn. “I can quite honestly say that without the support of the Writers’ Program and specifically Ms. Dunn, this project would not have gotten off the ground. I am so incredibly grateful for the Program and the excellence of the instruction I received.” Tanya has also published in the Cup of Comfort anthology series, Literary Mama, The Huffington Post, and TheNextFamily.com.

Congratulations, Tanya!
