Writers’ Program student Kate Kaplan’s short story, “Every Dog Gets to Bite,” will be published in the 2013-2014 issue of Roanoke Review, due out mid-September. She is currently taking Lou Mathews’ The Art of the Short Story: Advanced Workshop for the second time.
“I started thinking about the ways in which people encounter–and really become involved with–complete strangers,” Kate says, “and ended up writing a story about a woman bitten by a stranger’s dog. Lou Mathews was very very helpful on this and other stories.”
Congratulations, Kate!
