Barbara Lodge, who has studied with Barbara Abercrombie for over 10 years, has published widely in a very short time. In the past few years her work has been included in the Los Angeles Times LA Affairs column, the New York Times Motherlode Blog, The Examined Life Journal (University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine), Literary Mama’s Literary Reflections column, and Elohi Gadugi Journal. If that wasn’t enough of an accomplishment, Barbara’s essays will be included in the forthcoming anthologies Stepping Up: Stories of Blended Families and 30 Shades of Blue (both by Seal Press).

Ms. Lodge credits Barbara Abercrombie with helping her find her way as a writer. “Barbara has (and continues to) give me the courage to write. She’s helped me learn to find my voice, own my story, send stuff out, send more stuff out, write my truth, and in the process, she’s taught me to lose many adjectives and my pen name.”

Congratulations, Barbara! We can’t wait to hear where you publish next.
