Longtime Writers’ Program student Silas Matthies has published his story “A Dying Wish,” about violence erupting in a Victorville, CA trailer park, in Issue #111 of Iconoclast Magazine. (Disclaimer from Silas: “The story includes graphic sex, violence, and crude language, so it is definitely not for everyone.”)

Silas, who has been taking Writers’ Program courses for more than 15 years, says that instructor Leslie Lehr gave him invaluable advice: “the more specific your writing is, the more universal it is.”

Congratulations, Silas!
