Fiction Writing Certificate student Michael Sudmeier has received a fiction fellowship from the Wyoming Arts Council! Michael began his novel in Nancy Woodruff’s Novel I class and continued workshopping through classes with her as well as Lynn Hightower, Caroline Leavitt, and Robert Eversz. Of his time studying with the Writers’ Program, Michael says, “UCLA Extension’s Fiction Writing Certificate Program provided the support, accountability, and guidance to craft the stories I had always wished to tell. It offered an opportunity to not only hone my craft, but to also create a foundation that would forever guide me. Each class I’ve taken has affirmed this. My coursework, teachers, and colleagues have shaped my writing life, fueled the creation of my novel, and provided continual inspiration. ”

Congratulations, Michael, and let us know when you’ve published that novel!

If you have a success story, we want to hear about it! Write to writers@uclaextension.edu.
