Writers’ Program alum Romalyn Tilghman can now call herself a published author! Romalyn’s debut novel To the Stars Through Difficulties comes out April 4, 2017 and is available through pre-order. Full of Kansas history?from pioneer homesteaders to Carrie Nation to orphan trains? To the Stars Through Difficulties is a contemporary story of women changing their world, and finding their own voices, powers, and self-esteem in the process. Romalyn took online creative writing courses through the Writers’ Program: “I never could have done it without the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program, and the amazing instructors, Gayle Brandeis, Robert Eversz, and Caroline Leavitt. As awesome as the instructors? The other students, of all ages and backgrounds, checking in from all over the world.”

Congratulations, Romalyn, and we look forward to reading your novel!
