We are happy to share that student Laurie Ember has published a piece in the online journal Cheat River Review! Laurie’s piece is called “Seeking Expert Piano Tuner” and Laurie shares the following: “A friend described this piece as a single-sentence sonatina that plays like a prose poem. I was definitely playing with form, and for me, the word ‘home,’ is the final chord. ‘Seeking Expert Piano Tuner’ combines all the genres I’ve studied in the Writers’ Program: nonfiction and personal essay with Barbara Abercrombie, all levels of fiction and flash with Colette Sartor, poetry with Rick Bursky, and advanced short story with Lou Mathews. I hear their voices in my head when I write and it has helped me find my own.”

Congratulations to Laurie and check out her fabulous piece here!
