Former Writers’ Program student Melanie Boysaw has been selected as an NBCUniversal’s 2016-2017 Writers on the Verge Winner! Melanie took classes from instructors Bill Taub and Lisa Rosenthal, and describes what it was like taking online courses through the Writers’ Program: “Being able to take online screenwriting courses while I was still getting my undergraduate degree over 370 miles away was not only convenient, but absolutely invaluable for me. The courses were the perfect way to learn the elements of developing story, master proper formatting, and get used to sticking to deadlines, all skills that have come in handy in a big way during the Writers on the Verge program. I’m so thankful to the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program for giving me the practical skills and encouragement to pursue TV writing.”
