Congratulations are in order for television writing student, Jonathan Hurwitz! After working in the production world at Pixar and TV development at Disney Junior, Jonathan has landed a job as a writer’s assistant for the upcoming Disney Channel dramedy “Andi Mack.” Jonathan says, “Next to shaking Beyoncé’s hand, my first day in the writer’s room was one of the most exciting days I’ve had in recent memory.” Jonathan gives a nice shout out to the Writers’ Program in helping him on his way: “I took Barry Vigon‘s Writing the Original Half-Hour Comedy Pilot course and his course taught me how to give and receive notes, in addition to the value of having my writing read out loud. I also still refer to our course book (Inside the Room, edited by Linda Venis and written by WP instructors), which details how to take a half-hour comedy pilot idea from premise to script.”

We’re so happy to hear Jonathan has landed a dream job!
