Darri Farr, former Writers’ Program student and fiction writer, has added to her list of prestigious accomplishments (some of her past successes can be found here and here)—she’s been selected for a Stegner Prize! The Stegner is a two-year creative writing fellowship at Stanford University that grants fellows the resources necessary to write full-time. Of her experience with the Writers’ Program, Darri says, “This sounds dramatic, but the Writers’ Program, and Lou Mathews in particular, changed my life. Lou was the first person who took my writing seriously and encouraged me to do the same. He has continued to be a valuable source of support and guidance, even after the Writers’ Program.”
Wonderful news, Darri, and best of luck with your fellowship!
