Yeled Tov (Lethe Press), Daniel M. Jaffe‘s newest novel, is a coming-of-age story about Jake Stein, an observant Jewish teenager struggling to reconcile his interpretations of Torah with his growing attraction to men. According to Kirkus Reviews, “Jaffe writes in a polished prose style…locating Jake’s conflict in the particulars of Judaism and Jewish culture, while also presenting a story that will feel relatable to a wide audience…. An empathetic story of faith and desire.”
Of his time working with the Writers’ Program, Daniel says, “Having taught in the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program for 18 years now, I continue to be amazed at the passion our students bring to the writing process. My greatest joy is helping student writers unleash talent that’s bubbling right below the surface.”
