Former student Michael Mejia published his second novel, TOKYO, in March and was featured in an interview with SLUG Magazine last year. For those in Los Angeles, he will be reading an excerpt at Book Soup on August 6th, 2018.
Michael took several Writers’ Program courses in the late 1990s, including a two-day seminar taught by Kate Braverman, and fiction courses with Bernard Cooper. He has since earned an MFA from the University of Alabama, currently teaches creative writing in the University of Utah’s PhD in Creative Writing program.
