Fiction Certificate Student Gary Dickson recently published An Improbable Pairing, a historical romance novel that chronicles the enduring themes of a young man’s coming of age and the rebellious love of the mismatched. He will also have a book of French poetry published, in France, in April 2019.

Of his experiences in the Writers’ Program, Gary says, “I have acknowledged all three of my instructors at the UCLA Extension Writer’s Program in my novel, An Improbable Pairing. Shelley Bonus, my first beloved teacher of memoir, my first on-line instructor, the consummate encyclopedia of writer craft, Robert Eversz, and my mentor extraordinaire, Lynn Hightower. No one progresses in this endeavor without lots of help. I was lucky to have such talented, patient, and encouraging professionals.”

Congratulations, Gary! If you have a success story, we want to hear about it! Click here.
