Writers’ Program instructor Koji Steven Sakai has made good use of the restart of the film industry, recently wrapping production on a feature. He says, “I wrote and co-produced the feature film, The Commando, starring Michael Jai White (Spawn) and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). It was a quick 10-day shoot in New Mexico that completed production right before Halloween.”

Of his experience teaching in the Writers’ program he says, “I love taking students from having an idea and helping them develop it into a screenplay. My favorite part is seeing the joy of the process. That makes the challenges of teaching (especially during the pandemic) worth it!”

Congratulations, Koji! If you have a success story, we want to hear about it! Click here.
