TV writer/executive producer and WGA member who created and exec-produced UPN comedy series One on One. She served as co-executive producer for My Wife and Kids and The Hughleys, and was a supervising producer on The Parent ‘Hood; and a story editor/consultant on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
So you’re an aspiring comedy writer watching Modern Family or How I Met Your Mother and you’re thinking, “I can do that.” Then comes the next question: “How do I do that?” Writing for television seems easy at first glance, but a deeper look and it’s a world of plots, structures, character and story arcs, and through lines, and if writing comedies, set ups and jokes. It can seem daunting. But it’s also fun. As an instructor, it is my job to help you take your thoughts and ideas through the building blocks that lead to a good script.
