Student Kuang Lee made it to the semi-finalist round of the highly competitive Warner Brothers Television Writers Workshop. This year, one thousand applied and only twenty-one got the privilege of making it to the semi-final group.

Lee’s WITHOUT A TRACE spec called “Blood Lines” chronicles what happens when Jack Malone’s team faces the ultimate missing person’s case: Jack’s daughter disappears aboard a 747 jet.

Lee wrote “Blood Lines” in screenwriting instructor Tom Blomquist‘s Writing the One-Hour Spec Pilot: Advanced Workshop and credits Tom for the invaluable insider perspective. “Tom has truly amazing insight into what makes a television spec work. He’s had a lot of experience writing and running shows and that experience shows when he’s guiding a student’s work.”

Congratulations, Kuang!
