Ann Paul, who has taught more than 25 writing for children and picture book courses for the Writers’ Program over the last 11 years, has published two new books. Word Builder (“just like when you’re constructing a building, you have to build your words from the ground up”) and the adorably alliterate Tortuga In Trouble (Little Red Riding Hood updated to a desert setting with a glossary of Spanish words) were published in February by Simon & Schuster and Holiday House respectively.

Ann has been taking UCLA Extension classes for years, including over 30 Writers’ Program courses. “I learned nearly everything I know about writing picture books from the many classes I took at UCLA Extension. It pleases me beyond belief to be able to pass that information, and more, on to my students.”
