With temperatures in the 70’s and so many gifts still to be purchased, it’s hard to believe that the holidays are just around the corner. Don’t be fooled though. As is the practice every year at this time, UCLA Extension will close its doors at 5 pm on Friday, December 20, and won’t open them again until Thursday, January 2. Which means the Writers’ Program staff won’t be here to answer any questions that might spring up over the next week and a half.

The good news is that during our absence, you have several options available whether you need information about a course or instructor, or just need a daily dose of writing inspiration in order to continue churning out those pages.

For starters, bookmark the new Writers’ Program URL: writers.uclaextension.edu. On this comprehensive site, you’ll be able to browse course listings using a pdf of the winter catalog, and you’ll also get information about our instructors, competitions, consultations, mentorships and more.

If you’re thinking about enrolling in the February Writers Studio–four intensive days dedicated solely to your writing—you can find details about it here.

Ready to take the leap and enroll in a winter course? You can register here, even during the closure.

Interested in our new screenwriting books, Cut to the Chase or Inside the Room? Read all about ‘em, here.

Speaking of screenwriting, visit our YouTube page for a wealth of professional feature film and television writing advice.

Still have questions? Don’t fret. We’ll be back in the office bright and early on January 2, in plenty of time to get your questions answered before the winter quarter begins on January 6.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays and written pages aplenty!

Best Regards,

The Writers’ Program Staff
