Former student Kate Bolton Bonnici’s poetry collection, Night Burial, has been selected by Kiki Petrosino as the winner of the 2020 Colorado Prize for Poetry. Night Burial will be published in November by The Center for Literary Publishing at Colorado State University.

“I am immensely grateful for my time as a student at UCLA Extension. Online classes with Rachel Kann and Anna Maria Hong, both brilliant poets and generous teachers, gave me a supported space to explore poetry while working a day job and parenting young children. From these transformative courses, I could take the leap to graduate study of creative writing and literature.”

Kate is currently a Lecturer in early modern English literature and creative writing at UCLA, where she earned her PhD following an MFA in poetry at UC Riverside.

Congratulations, Kate! If you have a success story, we want to hear about it! Click here.
