Long time Writers’ Program student, Pete Hsu, recently released There Is a Man, his chapbook-length story collection with Tolsun Books. There Is a Man is an austere, bold, tender, and violent series of experimental short stories that Writers’ Program instructor Ben Loory calls, “wildly ambiti
ous, obsessed with possibilities, and working in a genre all (its) own.”
“This chapbook would not have happened without my work with Ben Loory,” says Pete. “He’s been a steady influence from the very start, seeing the first and second (and sometimes fourth!) drafts of these stories and always offering his unique balance of strong storytelling fundamentals along with a constant eye towards the humanity of our work.”
