Instructor Sehba Sarwar just recieved The COLA grant! In her own words, “I am honored to be awarded the City of Los Angeles’s COLA grant. For me, the award is not only funding for me to focus on the novel that I started even before I wrote Black Wings – it’s also a mark of entry to Los Angeles, a city I embrace as my newest home.”
Of her time in the Writers’ Program, “I didn’t know that LA had such a rich literary community until I began working with the Writers’ Program, which I joined a few years after I landed in LA. The program has helped shape the city as a home for me. Charlie and team are amazing – when I suggest new courses, they welcome my ideas and help me develop new descriptions and syllabi. And the students hail from all corners of the US and the globe. They are talented, passionate, and they write stories that the world needs to hear.”
Congratulations Sehba! Look out for her name on the schedule in the upcoming months!
