Instructor Statement:

Writing is a mysterious journey. I am never quite sure where I’m headed, who’s traveling with me, or how I will arrive at my destination. What I know is that with patience and perseverance, I’ll find my way. I encourage students to keep moving forward toward their larger goal and to be courageous on the page.Writers often battle an inner voice telling us to give up, that we aren’t good enough, or that we aren’t up to the task. I encourage my students to connect more deeply with the creative spark that calls them to write and to let go of limiting beliefs that get in their way. Focusing on in-class writing and sharing in a supportive environment, my aim is to facilitate writing with out judgment so that students can discover expansive and often surprising ideas that ignite their work. I strongly encourage writers to be bold and proactive in sending their work out into the world.

Our Students Say It Best!

“I highly recommend Robin Finn’s Women Writing Workshop at UCLA! Robin is a wonderful instructor, and she is incredibly knowledgeable about the fundamentals of writing and knows how to lead a class of women with rich and diverse stories (and varying degrees of writing experience – it was my first course!)  Her writing prompts were thoughtful and witty, and she created a supportive and friendly atmosphere for all of us.” – Former Writers’ Program Student
