Writing Retreat at Lake Arrowhead

September 24 – September 29, 2023

Give yourself the gift of time to write in a serene setting far away from the demands of your daily life. Join a small group of committed writers for four full days of uninterrupted writing time at UCLA’s beautiful conference center at Lake Arrowhead. Participants will enjoy double occupancy chalets, gourmet meals each day, along with complimentary beverages all day long. The Writers’ Program will coordinate some structured activities, including pre-dinner social hours and nightly open mic events, but your time will ultimately be yours to accomplish your writing goals at your own pace.

To register, click “Add to Cart” to pay through UCLA Extension by going to this link. Upon receipt of your fee, we will email you the itinerary and link to submit your $1,899 fee directly to the UCLA Conference Center at Lake Arrowhead.
August 15: Last day to cancel registration for full refund.
August 30: Last day to cancel registration for a 50% refund.

8:00 am – 9:00 am Buffet Breakfast
9:00 am –12:00 pm Early Riser Quiet Writing Time
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Buffet Lunch
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Optional group craft talk
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm Afternoon Chatty Writing Time
5:00 PM Evening social
6:00 PM Dinner
8:00 PM Open Mic
9:30 pm – 12:00 am Night Owl Quiet Writing Time

 

Each student enjoys a private bedroom with private adjoining bath in hotel room-style accommodations in the conference center’s Cedar Lodge. There is free access to WiFi at the conference center.
